I'm actually from the Uterine board, but my UPSC is a cousin of ovarian cancer, so I hope you don't mind my asking it here.
In the case of a progression or recurrence with an advanced-stage, what were your protocols for treatment? In some cases, I read that ladies had to take chemo the rest of their lives. In others, I read that they get treatment, and if their CT and/or CA-125s behaved, they were put on watch and wait and taken off that beastly treatment unless there were problems. The bios here seem to indicate that.
My friend's mother had OVCA that went to a de facto Stage 4, and was alive for 13 years. She never had ongoing treatment; just treatment as necessary. She died well into her 70s.
So now I'm REALLY confused. Is lifelong chemo a newer trend? I will look at your bios as well, but any posts here would be appreciated, since often, ladies choose not to include one. Thanks!
